Selma Treviño Selma is co-founder of Corporeal Arts Incorporated. She created the solo-performance Mirrors, the first CAI production directed with her husband William Treviño. She also co-created and performed with William After Hours and Tamar & Amnon.

Selma received her BA in Theatrical Arts from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, where she first studied and taught the Corporeal Mime technique under Luis Otávio Burnier. She went on to specialize in Corporeal Mime, studying under masters Thomas Leabhart and Ivan Bacciocchi and performing the technique in the United States, France, Canada and Brazil.

As the recipient of Dance Theater Workshop’s grant, Outer/Space Artist-In-Residence, Selma is currently reconstructing the choreography of American ethnic dancer, La Meri. She is also a research assistant on the “La Meri Biography” for Professor Nancy Ruyter, University of California-Irvine.
